• Lightroom Presets from April 2018 are stored as .xmp files in Adobe Camera Raw, and the same files are available in both programs. Before this time Lightroom Presets used the file format .lrtemplate. The program update converted all presets to the new format and moved them to the new shared location. Old preset files are converted to the new format on import.

Different Types of Presets

• Standard Presets. These are viewed in the left hand Presets Panel and affect the whole image. 
• Basic Presets. These are found in the right handBasic Module and are available for the Graduated Filter, Radial Filter and Adjustment Brush.
• Profiles are found in the right hand Basic Module and effect the whole image.
