Select an area to fill with any tool. From the Edit Menu select Fill. Make sure the Contents box is set to Content-Aware. Options has Colour Adaptation ticked, and Blending is Normal, 100%. Click OK to complete.
If you select most of an image the unselected area becomes the sample area and will be used to fill the main part of the image. (Ref 1:50)
The shortcut for this is SHIFT + DELETE, which opens the dialogue box.
If you select an area first and then go to Edit > Content-Aware Fill from the Menu, then a new workspace opens which gives a lot of options for how this tool works. (See below).
