Duplicate the image by dragging it down to the ‘New Image’ symbol. On the duplicate go to Filter > Other > High Pass. Apply a radius of 2 (Light effect), 3 (Medium), to 5 (Heavy) for a 36 megapixel image. I will need a different setting. Apply a blending mode of overlay, where 50% is invisible but other tones show through.
Photoshop Sharpening in Lab Colour
Sharpening - Convert to Lab colour and only sharpen the L channel, then convert back to RGB, which does not sharpen colour edges and produce colour artifacts.
